Engineering Manager position w/Operations Mgmt & Sales/Marketing/Bus Dev background – South of Atlanta

 

Job Description:

The Engineering Manager will have two core areas of responsibility:

1.      Business Development – growing business through client development and marketing, and

2.      Operations – managing external projects in a cost-effective and timely manner and managing the internal staff to maximize quality and efficiencies.

 

Essential functions

·        Oversee, direct and leads professional engineers, other engineering personnel and administrative personnel, conducts or leads the study, development and design of a variety of large, complex projects

·        Client Development including client entertainment, attending conventions, participation in community events, etc.

·        Accounting Discipline (timesheet/billing collections)

 

Requirements:

·        Engineering Degree

·        At least 5 years’ experience in an Engineering Firm

·        At least 3 years of management experience

·        Entrepreneurial life experience

·        Track record of effectively managing meetings

·        Client development experience

·        Project management expertise

 

Top Three Objectives for the Engineering Manager:

1)      In the first 6 to 12 months, the Engineering Manager will bring in $250,000 in new business through off-site marketing and client development.

2)      In the first 6 to 12 months, the Engineering Manager will present an informal 10x growth plan to the CEO with hopes that some portions of that growth plan would be immediately implementable.

3)      In the first 6 to 12 months, the Engineering Manager will establish him or her-self as second in command to the CEO as evidenced by the CEO.
