Sr. MAC Engineer - HDMI
Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for R&D and standardization in MAC protocol and AV transport for next generation high-speed video interfaces and networks. The candidate should posses strong knowledge in networking theory and MAC design, and be familiar with various network/interface standards (such as 802.3, 802.3ba, HMDI, and MHL) and transport mechanisms (such as RTSP, UDP, TCP/IP). Good knowledge in optical networking is a plus. In addition, the candidate must have strong communication skills, comfortable to debate in an open forum, a problem solver, and be able to work internally as well as in alliance with industry leaders.

- Design architecture, MAC protocol and AV transport mechanism for high-speed video interface and network
- Develop, analyze and simulate MAC algorithms
- Participate in standardization activities by aligning company interests in high-speed video interface and network
- Develop, coordinate and present technical contributions in standard bodies
- Conduct open innovation with leading companies and research institutes
Necessary Skills / Attributes
- MS (or equivalent), preferably PhD in EE or CS, specialized in communication networks
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in architecture design, MAC protocol, and AV packet transport for video interface
- History of design, analysis and simulation of MAC/network algorithms using OPNET
- History of participation and influence in standardization environment
Strong knowledge in networking standards (incl. 802.3, 802.3ba, HMDI, and MHL)
Good knowledge in AV transport mechanisms( e.g., RTSP, UDP, TCP/IP) and video codec (such as H.264, MPEG4)
Good knowledge in optical communications/networking
Self motivated, proactive and team-player
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent communications skills and documentation/writing skills
