GRAPHIC DESIGNER
San Mateo, CA (near CalTrain)
We are looking for a creative and experienced Graphic Designer to join our small, tight-knit team, designing digital, interactive apps and games for Mobile, Web, and Desktop. Our apps are innovative multimedia entertainment experiences that combine user-generated content, cutting-edge technology, and the hottest music, movie, and sports properties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Graphic design for new mobile & tablet apps and games (iOS & Android)
• Design cutting-edge websites and consumer-facing entertainment desktop apps and games
• Design and optimize wireframes and user-flows
• Translate wireframes created by team members into visual designs
• Create concept art for presentations
• Create marketing pieces (digital & print)
• Work with developers and engineers on executing designs
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Have contributed to or led the design of multiple mobile applications and/or websites
• Formal or informal education in design (BA or MA is a plus)
• Strong design skills, including typography, layout and color theory
• Quickly sketch up ideas and turn them into detailed wireframes
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail even under tight deadlines
• Basic development skills and understanding of web standards
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
CORE SKILLS:
• Expert understanding of Adobe CS5 Creative Suite, especially Photoshop & Illustrator
• Microsoft Office, especially Word & PowerPoint
• HTML, CSS & Flash
• Self-motivated, fast learner and excellent communication skills
• Strong portfolio of work
BONUS SKILLS:
• 3D Animation (preferably Maya)
• Video editing/animation
• Photography
• Illustration
• User Interface and User Experience design skills
