Principal Architect, SDN Management Plane and Programmability

This position requires a minimum of 15 years experience.

Responsibilities

·Gather requirements from stakeholders and convert them into technical design documents

·Ability to work with and support several different customers simultaneously

·Design and implement front- and back-end APIs for a variety of different platforms, including desktop, tablet, and mobile

·Lead the creation of functional prototypes

·Work with local and remote developers to build production systems

·Mentor junior and remote members of the team

Mandatory Experience

·At least 7 years of relevant experience in running complex engineering programs (at least 10 people, preferably different geographic locations, preferably internationally)

·At least 10 years of relevant experience in software definition (e.g., design and functional specs, schema design) as well as at least 5 years of internal and external presentations

·At least 10 years of relevant experience in network management (familiar with configuration of multiple types of devices, event-driven programming, alarm correlation, fault management, root cause analysis)

·At least 10 years of relevant experience in using network switching and routing in any of Huawei, Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson devices at the feature and interoperability level as well as the CLI and SNMP levels

·At least 7 years of relevant experience architecting and implementing APIs for network devices and networked applications; RESTful APIs are mandatory, APIs for virtualization technologies is a strong plus; a proven track record of delivering extensible APIs in commercial products is mandatory

·At least 7 years of relevant experience in applying network management to traffic engineering, security applications (e.g., firewall design), VLANs, L2 and L3 VPNs, and QoS provisioning

·At least 7 years of relevant experience with several components (e.g., device discovery, configuration, inventory) of at least one top network management vendor (e.g., Tivoli, OpenView)

·At least 5 years of relevant experience with at least one messaging tool (broker, service bus, or framework), such as HornetQ

·At least 5 years of relevant experience in using XML technologies, including XPath, XQuery, XML parsing and validation, and XML mapping

·At least 5 years of relevant experience in RDBMSs, ORDBMS, OODBMS, NoSQL, or NewSQL

·At least 5 years of relevant experience in programming in C, Java, C++, C#, or similar

·At least 3 years of relevant experience in policy language design and/or usage

·At least 1 year of relevant experience in working with OpenStack and OpenFlow

·Excellent communication skills

·BA/BS in computer science or related field (M.Sc. or Ph.D. in computer science or related field a plus)
